La Provence

love this inspiration board from postcards and pretties. you can't go wrong with the ideal scenery of provance france as inspiration for you wedding! one of my favorite places to eat breakfast here in portland is La Provence--rustic and quaint, this little french restaurant is complete with blue wooden chairs, baskets of handmade butter pastries and to die for egg and brie omelettes! i'm getting hungry...

Soothing...

it's hard to feel as though your wedding will be a "soothing" event with all the craziness of planing, scheduling and budgeting, but this color palette does just that: sooth. the freshness of the seaglass bottles, the ease of the stacks of faded, canvas books and the lovely girly dresses bring in a breath of fresh air.

Fresh Take

good morning! here's a fresh take on a timeless classic: the black and white wedding. allowing for touches of green from the steams of gorgeous, airy white flowers brings a modern element to the traditional feel of black and white. simply stunning.

modern pastel

i totally forgot to mention i was a guest post on the Wishpot Wedding Blog this week! it's all about pastel weddings, ladies. but i refuse to believe that the sweetness and beauty of pastels have to be directly related to nursery rooms and Easter egg hunting...rather think, spring-time blossoms, soft pink & rose, and even pops of deep purple & pink to add a bit of glamour. you always need a little drama :) check out more on my post.

Color Inspiration: graceful grey

{vera wang, coco+kelley, style me pretty, green wedding shoes, endless inspiration}

yes, yes, yellow and black are no new combination in the wedding world, but i propose we, classic brides, blend in grey to soften the stark contrast between the jet black and sunshine yellow. these grey subtleties smooth out the jagged edges of this modern color paring. elegance, not dullness; beauty in a crisp fusion of modern inspiration. not too sharp--just simply lovely.

Color Inspiration: color splash

i thought we could add a little sophistication to the "brights" color trend. a little less catwalk and a lot more refined grace. warm lemon, stunning jade, hints of slate, indigo and crystal, all with an emphasis on rosy pink and sweet raspberry bring together a glow of modern femininity.

Color Inspiration: chic cobalt

ooh i love the cobalt blue trend this year--high drama do be sure, but you can bring in different shades of blue, such as navy, turquoise, powder blue and cyan for a more elegant color palette. love that dress from Andrew Gn--girls, do it, where color on you wedding day!

Guest Post: Merci New York!

Hello, I’m Jacqueline from Merci New York and I’m thrilled to guest post on Weddings Fresh today. Dani has asked me to share some holiday inspiration with you, and though aqua and red has trended for quite some time, I just adore its versatility.

{Row 1: holiday centerpieces from Lyndsey Hamilton Events, landscape via We Heart It, typewriter {on sale!} on Classic Bride} {Row 2: Rasperry macaroons via Canelle et Vanille, portrait Denise Grunstein via Wedding Nouveau,Gift tags seen on Once Wed} {Row 3: mantle of the lovely Miss Pickles Press, pastry-twined invites at Once Wed, floral arrangements at the home of bash eco events} {Row 4: A tablescape from Hostess with The Mostess, festive cake by The Cake Studio}

During the holidays, crisp turquoise works wonderfully against cranberry red, imparting a bit of mid-century nostalgia into, well, everyone’s favorite season to be nostalgic. Instantly, the winter chill is lifted and we feel warm, cozied and content… Yet if we fast-forward halfway into the New Year, the same palette is once again relative-- Cranberry brightens to coral, turquoise transitions to a lighter sky… and the effect of contrast remains simply stunning. Vibrant red and cool blue are truly a universal pairing for any season.

Merry Christmas and warmest wishes for a wonderful 2010!

make sure you all check out Merci New York today as i am guest posting over there with some gown and decor holiday inspiration as well! i hope you all have a Merry Christmas and i will see you next week!!
